Started MY Website

So I finally did it, I started My own website.
 Hunting Michigan Deer
Not really what I thought it would be.
They always said pick something you know so I did  and it would seem they were right. I started with a free blog and it was doing well enough so I moved it to a piad server.
It's still getting lots of visitors and growing everyday.

I am still not the best salesman,, I just can't bring myself to hype things I don't believe in. I don't want to sell things that people don't need just to make money.

I also realized that with this kind of web site I have to put a lot more word into it then I would have thought.
Because it is an informational site I have to make sure there is info that hunter's can use and will want to come back to.
I haven't started an optin mailing list yet but I am starting to see why these help make money.
Right now when I review a product I have no why to let my regular visitors know.
I have started a Facebook page and a twitter account which are helping, but also add to the time I have to spend promoting the website.
Most of my time is spent learning how to set up the WordPress and Facebook pages.
I decided on WordPress because there is some sort of news everyday about hunting and by posting it I can keep the site fresh, and search engines love that.

I bought my Domain name and hosting from Godaddy. It seemed easier to just go thought them for both sense I wasn't sure of exactly what I was doing and how to do it.
They have GREAT customer service, I called them and they helped me get started over the phone.
They asked questions about what I wanted to do and got me the right plan for my needs at a very reasonable price.
If you are getting ready to start your first website of any kind I suggest you call them.
GoDaddy

If you don't have a blog you want to transfer over I would check out ask about their blog service. It can be integrated in to your website.
Because I want to transfer my existing blog I had to use WordPress and it is not as user friendly as some of the options they offer. Please go check the out it is worth it. If you call them and tell them what you want and how much you know they will help you to get a good start and help you through the process the whole way.
As always I have neglected this blog and I will try to get here more often.    :)
