So you Have A Couple Ideas About Topics What Now

OK so you researched a few topics and you think you might have a couple to start with. What do you do next. Well there is lots of things to do now.

To start (if you haven't already) type your topic into your search engines, at least the top 3, google, yahoo, and MSN. Look to see the results at the top right corner it will say something like 1-10 out of 124,000. Did you see a lot of results coming up? If you see something like 1,987,675 its pretty high and you might have a hard time getting you site high enough to get the traffic you need to make money. This doesn't mean giving up on your topic just that you need to refine it so that you are finding a niche in that topic that is more refined, Here's a quick example:

Sheds get 13,600,000 results
backyard sheds gets 927,000 results
wooden backyard sheds gets 165,000 results
red wooden backyard sheds gets 50,000 results

Its easy to refine your topic down to a niche that does not have to much competition. Imagine id you have the same content on your site (including red sheds) and you were trying to compete in the sheds it would be a lot harder then trying to compete in the red backyard shed. If you have good content and update it regularly you would probably get to the front pages of the search engines pretty quickly. And people that are looking at more refined searches are more likely to buy. They are more likely to be looking to buy. Someone who is looking for Kids toys is probably looking for ideas, someone that is searching for Tickle Me Elmo is more likely to be ready to buy.
