Here’s some other things to consider while researching your niche:

• Choose a topic\product that you can write quality content about
• Learn how to do Keyword research, use it to help you decide on what people are looking for
• Look at your competition, you want to see a fair amount of completion, it means there is money to be made it the niche, but if there is to much it can be harder to rank high on the search engines
• Check on merchant to see if they have good commissions and if other affiliates are having good sales

Choosing a profitable topic can be one of the hardest steps for someone new to affiliate marketing. If you want to make money then you need to find a niche that people are interested in. One of the best tolls you can use is keyword research, if you haven't learned how to do this yet you need too.

Start with a list of topics you think people will be looking for, it helps if you are also interested in these topics, it is easier to work with a topic that you like. It can get very tedious working on content for something you have no interest in.

Once you have your list, pick your top 4 or 5 and start researching them, Type them in to your search bar, check out how many results come up and check out the competition. You want to see a fair amount of competition, it means there is money to be made in the topic. Type in your topics in to your keyword tools( and you should use more than one) this will help you get more ideas and help narrow down your list.

Do this for all your top picks and keep notes and track of all the information you get, if you're like me notes will soon take over your life, I still like to write things down with paper and pen, but you can use a word processor or spread sheet. It a good idea to make a separate file for each topic. Even if they don't end up being the one you choose to start with you might want to use them later for your next site.

Researching and deciding on on topic can be a long tedious process but it is important that you do this step and find a niche that will make money. After you have done this step a dew time it does get easier and will go a lot faster for you.

Wordtracker Keyword Questions - I love this one , you put in your keyword and it shows you the questions that people have been typing in to searches.

These are just a few there are hundreds of tools, and most come with tutorials and tips that will help you understand more about keyword research.

So once you get your research done it's time to make you top choice, the one you want to start with. It might not be the easiest decision you have ever. If your still having trouble deciding find some forums about your topics and see what people are asking about them. Then check and see if there is affiliate programs for them.

The important thing is to pick one and get started. You will never make money online if you don't get started. Today is the day to start working towards your goals.
